The work

The half of the unit that gets forgotten

Trailers sit. That is what makes them easy to defer and expensive to ignore — a trailer with a dragging brake or a dead lamp is out of service the moment it matters, usually with a load already on it.

Because the mobile shop comes to the yard, a trailer can be serviced where it is parked, in the window between loads, without a tractor tied up moving it anywhere.

Fleet trucks and trailers parked in a customer yard.
Scope

What gets serviced

Brakes and drums
Linings, drums, chambers and slack adjusters — measured and replaced, then tested before the trailer goes back in the rotation.
Airlines and valves
Glad hands, lines, relay valves and spring brakes, with leaks found under pressure rather than chased by ear.
Lighting and wiring
Lamps, markers, harnesses and the cord connections that corrode first. The faults that fail an inspection at the roadside.
Doors, lift gates and hardware
Roll-up and swing doors, lift gates, hinges, latches, seals and track — the wear that turns into a load exposed to weather or stuck on the deck.
Landing gear and suspension
Legs, cranks, airbags, hangers and bushings, plus the frame damage that shows up around them.
Floors and liners
Floor repair and liner damage assessed against what the trailer actually hauls.
Sequence

How a trailer visit runs

  1. 01

    Contact Us

Trailer number, the fault, and where in the yard it is parked. Several trailers in one visit is normal.

  2. 02

    Worked where parked

No tractor needed and no yard shuffle. The mobile shop comes to the trailer in the window you give it.

  3. 03

    Quoted before work

Findings are priced from standard repair times before anything is replaced, including anything discovered along the way.

  4. 04

    Back in the rotation

Brakes and lighting are tested before the trailer is released, and the work is logged to that trailer’s record.

Questions

Before you call

Do you service trailers you did not inspect?

Yes. A trailer does not need to be on a program for repair work, though trailers on a PM schedule tend to need fewer unplanned visits.

Can several trailers be done in one visit?

Yes, and it is the normal way to do it — batching trailers in one yard visit is cheaper than booking them separately.

Do you do annual trailer inspections?

Yes, against the same federal criteria as a tractor, and defects found can usually be corrected on the same visit.

What about reefer units?

Yes. Patriot services reefers. Ask us for more information.
